Sorry mate, but u r kinda wrong. In duels, right after you'll use bluff (even if bluff wont land) u can use backstab.
If you will do that fast enough its gonna land for sure.
Here we go then... backstab from front as u called it - voila!

But yea its true, if u r lucky enough to bluff enemy u r a winner, but for me Bluff's landing like once per like 30-40 tries, so I dont really count on bluff.
However there's few tricks that can help you win duel, like watching your skill bar - at lv 76 u r getting skill called "weapon mastery". So with that sometimes u can use your blows twice without waiting for skill till its gonna 100% load, u have to just double click on skill when u gonna just notice.
U r sayin' that dagger class is based on luck, im saying its rather based on speed

yes dude (1kain) i know that , but some people in itc use backstab without bluff that's why i mean. And bluff depending of buff and the weapon and ur boss jewel, if the enemie doesnt have any buff for P def, u will easy bluff him, if u have a good AS, u have more chance to bluff him, same if u have valackas. I know that coz one time i try without any boss jewel and with, my bluff had got more chance to stun. And yes there are some trick for skill, i only use in front fight bluff and lethal blow, and in back fight deadly blow and back stab (sry for my bad english)

I can absolutely guarantee you would lose to someone with full boss set, the only way you could win is if you had boss set or you land a lucky 5second bluff...I have been playing the game since C2 and items DO matter.. it aint rocket science.
